'Pain'

Experiencing 'pain' is undoubtedly an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience for most - however, the purpose of pain serves as the human body's most important communication tool.  Imagine, for instance, what would happen if you felt nothing when you put your hand on a hot stove. Pain is one way the body tells you something's wrong and needs attention.

There are a number of reasons that one might experience pain and the degree of the pain will differ depending on the root/cause of the pain - whether it be a headache/migraine or a serious illness - methods of pain relief are often sought to alleviate the discomfort that is experienced.

Natural Painkillers

Many people are now turning to natural methods of relieving pain due to the side effects that are often experienced when taking western pharmaceutical drugs.  Whilst pharmaceutical painkillers and pain reliefs will often succeed in relieving pain quickly - the suppression of pain without finding its cause - will do you no favors in the long run.

Natural painkillers/pain reliefs such as herbs, essential oils, acupuncture, meditation and mindfulness practices etc.. are increasingly being used by many, as an alternative and natural/organic way to relieve pain.

Practice:

Since, the experience of pain serves the purpose of your body communicating to you a problem/issue and/or imbalance within the body - it is important to develop a good relationship with your body which includes developing the  skill of listening to your body.

Whilst pain relief is readily available - getting in tune with your body may mean you will only have to make minor adjustments whether it be to your diet or your lifestyle choices.

'Ask and ye shall receive' - the human body is a very intelligent mechanism - and if you ask 'what do you need?' - it will more often, than not - tell you exactly what it needs - often through intuition - you may also be drawn to certain foods at a point in time - go with it and monitor the body's response to it - you may wish to keep a journal of your findings - if so buy a handy sized black book (approx. A5 in size) and jot down your thoughts and observations.

Remember - simply suppressing pain without finding its root/cause will only serve to temporarily relieve you - it is better to deal with problems when they are small - thus have no illusions - finding permanent solutions to issues such as recurring pain, over the long term will benefit you greatly.
