Why sleep is important?

During sleep - the body rests and is able to repair itself - as a consequence a restful/peaceful sleep is important.

Sleep - Practice Tips:

1. Listening to calm and relaxing music/sounds such as 'meditation music,' 'nature sounds,' 'tibetan bowls' and 'classical music' etc can help you to fall asleep easily and improve the quality of your sleep.  These can be accessed online through a general search via various platforms such as 'Youtube,' 'Soundcloud,' etc...

2. Turn off electrical devices/appliances in the bedroom - the electrical signals/radiation emitted from most electrical devices have been found to interfere with the body's electromagnetic field and thus disrupt sleep - i.e. sleeping with the tv on, wifi etc... will have some impact on the quality of your sleep.

3.  Natural healing processes during sleep - During sleep there are many natural healing processes that occur in the body - to 'restore,' 'replenish' and 'recharge' the body.  Drinking a warm beverage before sleeping such as herbal teas or 'golden milk' (an Indian health drink/tonic containing turmeric and other spices (for more info - click here ) can enhance this natural healing process whilst sleeping.
